WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif--October 20, 2008-- CaminoSoft Corp. (OTC.BB:CMSF - News), a leading provider of Active
Archive solutions for Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008, Novell NetWare and NetApp Filer environments, today announced that its Managed Server HSM™ v5.2 software release has been tested compatible with 64-bit versions of both Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003 platforms.
CaminoSoft’s solution provides automated storage management and file archiving capabilities for both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows 2008, as well as support for popular Windows 2003 environments. The policy-based software enables IT administrators to establish rules that
archive files from high-performance primary storage to less-costly secondary resources and online content addressed storage (CAS) archives, while permitting system users to access and retrieve these files transparently. The software reduces the extent of future primary storage acquisitions and defers associated costs, which are especially important considerations for organizations during periods of economic belt-tightening and budgetary constraints.
Neil Murvin, chief technology officer at CaminoSoft, said, “Intel and AMD 64-bit processors have become the standard for most servers and many desktop PCs. Customers can leverage this technology by seamlessly running our Managed Server HSM products on their Microsoft 64-bit Windows platforms – taking advantage of more physical memory, improved performance and increased security and scalability.”
CaminoSoft pioneered the development of tiered storage solutions and offers products for the widest range of archival platforms in the industry, including: EMC Centera; NetApp Filer/SnapLock; IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, DR550 and N series; Hitachi Data Systems HCAP; HP IAP; and tape and optical disk libraries. Managed Server HSM for Windows 2008 is now available and shipping
